Meet Dayna
Hohmann
 Catfish Lady |
|
Dayna Hohmann
has been fishing for as long as she can remember. Some of Dayna's fondest
childhood memories are fishing with her Dad. As a child, she spent many
weekends and warm summer evenings hanging over her dad's shoulder trying
to help clean fish or sitting on the bank with her little Zebco for hours,
faithfully watching her bobber.
She started
drifting for catfish with her dad as a teen and introduced her husband to
this casual sport shortly after they were married. He's been "hooked"
since. Both of their daughters, Kristen 26, and Kymberlee 22, enjoy
drifting, while their son Thomas 23, prefers jugs, jigs and trolling -
more action, so he says. |

for more years than she cares to admit, own a cattle ranch west of Vinita

A surprise, Dayna's husband Marty caught that white bass drifting the
bottom with shad on July 30th. Thought he had another big catfish because
it put up a bit of a fight. He was a little surprised when he pulled it
out, not quite what we expected! Everyone has been complaining the white
bass aren't biting... well, there you go! |
Dayna's husband Marty shows a not quite 4 pound blue that he caught near
Bernice on July 30th, in just over 20 feet of water, using shad for bait. |

Dayna shows off her 35 lb.
Wahoo caught off the coast of Cozumel, MX in April of 2011. She said she
caught it on one of the outriggers. Her husband Marty wasn't so lucky,
becoming a little seasick so didn't fish. |

they caught one small Barracuda. |
